Morgen ist es endlich soweit, da startet der Vanguard Kickstarter!  ...

Wer von Euch überlegt mit einzusteigen, oder wartet Ihr erstmal ab, was dort gezeigt und angeboten wird und zu welchem Preis, oder macht Ihr das auch von den Stretchgoals abhängig?

Ich bin auf jeden Fall sehr gespannt was uns erwarten wird !

Warum kotzen sich eigentlich so viele über "Mantic's neuesten Kickstarter" aus (also nicht unbedingt hier, aber auf anderen Plattformen)? Gab's da in der Vergangenheit schlechte Erfahrungen?

Jein,

Mantic hat einmal auf die Community gehört, als man fragte ob man schnelleren Versand möchte oder lieber eine Qualitätskontrolle, Resultat waren die Man at Arms mit völlig verzogenen Proportionen

Ansonsten die üblichen Probleme das Leute jammern weil irgendwas das erst Produziert wird nicht an dem Tag geliefert wurde wie versprochen, es nicht schon vorher beim Händler ist, das Material nicht das ist was man gedacht hatte usw.

Andere haben allgemein ein Problem damit das Mantic seine Sachen auf diese Art und Weise vor finanziert.

Und viele können einfach nicht lesen, zB das Versand nicht im eigentliche Pledge dabei ist sondern später dazu kommt, das man einen Pledge Manager ausfüllen muss damit man überhaupt was bekommt usw.

 

Was Kickstarter im Allgemeinen betrifft ist Mantic da ziemlich verlässlich und man bekommt das was man bezahlt und mit Lieferverzögerungen muss man eben rechnen wenn Zeug in China produziert wird

Was mich bei diesem Kickstarter ein wenig wundert ist, dass das Core Set nur eine "Armee" enthält. Bei einem Core Set erwarte ich zwei Armeen damit man direkt loslegen kann.

Schauen wir mal was da noch so kommt, aber bisher sehe ich noch keinen Grund da einzusteigen

Und das macht auch Sinn, sonst würde sich wiederum alle Welt beschweren, warum man denn die 2. Fraktion mitbestellen muss, obwohl man doch nur eine davon spielt. Na oder man würde eine Art 2 Player bundle anbieten mit austauschbaren Warbands per Pledgemanager, nach Abschluss der Kampagne.

So hatte man das zum Beispiel beim Fallen Frontiers KS gemacht, nachdem die Backer händeringend nach dieser Option gefragt hatten, in Bezug auf die 2 Spielergrundbox, da viele nicht die dort enthaltenen Fraktionen wollten. Ich denke schon, dass es gerade heutzutage extrem wichtig ist, eine allumfassende Lösung bzw. Produkt anzubieten, wo einach alles olut of the Box spielbereit und enthalten ist. Da es sich zusätzlich noch alleine sehr schwierig spielen lässt, macht ein 2 Player Grundset mehr als Sinn, so können 2 Neulinge eben direkt loslegen, das Grundset splitten, oder gemeinsam finanzieren usw. Eigentlich ist das Branchen üblicher Standard, siehe diverse Hersteller/Firmen von Tabletops. Freebooters Fate und Warmachine/Hordes mal außen vor gelassen, wobei es bei letzerem mittlerweile auch 2 Player Boxen gibt, siehe auch das neue Company of Iron Skirmish ! Das einzige was ich komisch finde ist, warum sie kein Regelbuch only, oder plus Marker & Dice anbieten!? Das hatten sie damals beim KoW 2.0 KS gemacht, was ich sehr gut fand.

Ich habe auf jeden Fall erstmal gepledged mit 130 + 15 $ bei Vanguard und bin gespannt was da noch so alles kommen wird. In der Regel bekommt man bei Mantic KS immer gut viel für sein Geld.

Ich wundere mich auch, dass sie diesmal keine Regelbuch-Option anbieten (hätte ja ein Add-on sein können, sodass die Leute das zu einem 1$-Pledge dazunehmen können, ohne dafür Stretch-Goals einzusacken). Und warum die Geländeteile "Pflicht" sind anstatt ein Add-on. Erfahrungsgemäß kommen die Minis später doch sowieso als lose verpackte Gussrahmen bzw. in Tütchen, also muss man doch keine Rücksicht darauf nehmen, wie es später im Einzelhandel verpackt sein soll?

 

Will Mantic sich etwa beim Einzelhandel wieder beliebter machen und die dafür geplanten Optionen (einzelnes Regelbuch, 2-Spieler-Set) eben nicht in den Kickstarter aufnehmen? Sehr seltsam.

Ja das verstehe ich auch nicht und genau das macht derzeit ja auch den Großteil der ganzen Kommentare beim KS aus.

Bin gespannt was Mantic da in petto haben bzw. ändern werden, immerhin schreiben sie ja in den Kommentaren, dass sie zuhören und auf das Feedback eingehen wollen.

Derzeit bin ich auch eher unentschlossen, auch wenn ich gepledged habe. Ich finde es auch komisch, wieso sie noch keine Stretchgoals angekündigt haben!? ...

 

... und richtig gut gemacht Gameplay Videos vermisse ich auch. Man kann sich ohne die Alpha Regeln zu lesen, derzeit keinen guten Eindruck vom Spiel machen :(.

Der vorhandene Batrep ist ja ein von externen Leuten, sehr schlecht gemachter, wo man kein Live Gameplay sieht sondern nur nachbereitetes/geschnittenes und nachträglich kommentiert.

Das finde ich sehr suboptimal um einen Eindruck fürs Spiel zu gewinnen ...

Ich finde den Kickstarter ja aktuell leider echt mies.

 

100€ für ne Handvoll Püppies, Regelbuch und Marker und einen Haufen Kram den ich nicht brauche...

Und doppelte Posen bei 10 Figuren ist auch nicht wirklich cool, da kann ich gleich meine Dungeon Saga Püppies nehmen (was eh mein Plan war =D)

Wenn da nicht noch ein echter Kracher kommt sehe ich gerade leider keinen Grund beim KS mitzumachen. Da kann ich auch noch die zwei Jahre warten bis das regulär in den Handel kommt...

Another thing that caused some confusion was not listing the materials for the heroes – and to some this made the pledge looks a little light on value. The show piece models are going to be in high quality resin – and this was missing from the pledge graphic. In the Basilean Warband, the Abbess and Dictator, and in the Nightstalker's warband, the monstrous Mind Screech (which comes on a 50mm base) will all be in resin, as will the Nightstalkers Shade, which we've now added to the Warband Pledge (Ed - Ronnie's OCD kicked in because we didn't have a render and he told me to leave it out. I’ve overruled him, but it'll just be the artwork for now!) The pledge graphics reflect this info now. So, apologies for not including a two-player starter set option from the start, or making clear enough where the value was. With that in mind, we’ve put the 2 player option up there now – also at $85. In this set we’ve removed the scenery and resins and added in the second Warband – more than enough miniatures to get Vanguard started in style, and of course, all the books, dice, cards and everything else you’ll need too. We're sorry for not including that from the start - but we have listened and hope this scratches that itch. Thanks again for the support so far, the starter pledge is already cheaper than retail. With your help we can unlock some really exciting extra elements and we have some amazing things planned - like the BRAND NEW hard plastic Basilean Men at Arms and the hard plastic Scarecrows for the Nightstalker warband. In fact, they'll be the first stretch goal once we're funded and then we can really start adding even more to your pledge!

Aber leider immer noch nicht wirklich gut in meinen Augen. Das jetzt die Resin Minis raus sind und nur noch die Billigheimer drin sind ist nicht so toll.

Bisher hat das Spiel leider ein gefühlt viel schlechteres P/L Verhältnis als Dungeon oder Star Saga :/

HARD PLASTIC MEN AT ARMS

This is a big one - multi-part, multi-pose, hard plastic Men at Arms for the Basilean warband. These troops will add plenty of options to your warband choices and are extremely useful for those Group Actions. If you’ve played the alpha rules, you’ll know that Group Actions can play a vital part in Vanguard battles.

As a special bonus for hitting the funding goal we’ll be adding FIVE hard plastic Men at Arms to the Basilean Warband and the Two-player Set. Also, for those of you that play Kings of War and want to bolster your Basilean forces, we’ll be opening up a $20 regiment option, so you can grab 20 of these new miniatures for your army.

THE HORROR

After the hard plastic Men at Arms, it’s time to add something horrific to the Nightstalkers. The Horror was once a brave Stone Priest but now they’ve been twisted into this terrible creature! At $80,000 we’ll be adding two plastic Horrors to the Nightstalker warband and the two-player set.

SISTERHOOD SCOUT

To combat that terrible Horror, you might need some ranged options for the Basileans. At $85,000 we'll add two plastic Sisterhood Scouts to the Basilean warband and the two-player set.

HARD PLASTIC SCARECROWS

After all that we’ve got something else very exciting lined up for the Nightstalkers - it’s the hard-plastic, multi-part, multi-pose hard plastic Scarecrows (shame we’ve missed Halloween with these guys). Just like the Men at Arms, these will become the disposable grunts in your warband, led by the more powerful heroes.

We’ll add FIVE to the Nightstalkers warband and the two player set. Again, just like the Men at Arms, for those of you wanting to start a Nightstalkers army for Kings of War, we’ll be adding an $20 optional extra to get a regiment of 20 Scarecrows.

Also, we’ve been asking for your suggestions for potential scenarios in the comments. We’ve had some great ideas so far and if you’ve got any more we’d love to hear them.

Let's get through that funding goal and unlock more goodies for everyone! Onwards and upwards Vanguardians.

Ich fand das P/L-Verhältnis leider auch nicht gut und hatte echt meine Zweifel, obwohl ich zuerst ziemlich gehyped war von Vanguard. Das neue Update lässt aber wirklich hoffen. Finde es gut, dass Mantic reagiert und recht zügig die beiden Hartplastik-Regimenter nachschiebt. Wenn dann noch bald 1-2 neue Fraktionen kommen, könnten die das Ruder noch rum reißen.

Siehe meine angegebene Quellenangabe in meinem Post zu der Northern Alliance. Ich habe die Bilder aus dem genannten Youtube Video per Screenshots kopiert, beschnitten und abgespeichert bzw. dann hier hochgeladen :). Weiterhin wird die Northern Alliance auch in den Alpha Rules erwähnt (Armylists). Es ist also offiziell  !

Mittlerweile gibt es auch ein neues KS Update, mit einer neuen Pledge Variante und diverse Addons, aber seht selbst ...

New Rulebook Pledge Available! Plus Kings of War Starter Warbands Available!

Ho! Vanguardians,

Yesterday saw the total keep climbing and today we're closing in on the funding goal and those oh so sexy hard plastic Men at Arms!

Sometimes we get excited about the new shinies – who wouldn’t want new Basileans or Nightstalkers? However, one message that's become clear is that there are lots of existing Kings of War players who want a book-only option. You want to use your existing nicely painted armies in Vanguard, so while we find it weird you don't want a Basilean or Nightstalkers warband…(yet!) let’s make sure we get you squared away!

So, we're pleased to announce there's now a $30 pledge option to get the Vanguard rulebook, cardboard tokens, D8s and Power Dice (you need to to play). It's the perfect starting point for all you Kings of War players - and we know there are a lot of you - to jump in and get cracking with the game.

USING KINGS OF WAR ARMIES IN VANGUARD

Another thing we've seen mentioned several times is 'how do I use my existing Kings of War army in Vanguard' - after all, these are meant to be the battles before your big KoW armies.

Originally for flexibility the plan was to include downloadable starter warband lists on the Mantic Games website. However, after speaking to members of the Kings of War community, we're now pleased to say that the starter warband lists for all the Mantic armies below WILL be in the main Vanguard rulebook.

The armies included are:

• Abyssal Dwarfs
• Basileans
• Dwarfs
• Elves
• Empire of Dust
• Forces of the Abyss
• Forces of Nature
• Goblins
• Nightstalkers
• Ogres
• Orcs
• Trident Realm of Neritica
• Undead

This means you'll be able to take your Kings of War units and heroes straight into Vanguard the second the book arrives!

WARBAND OPTIONAL EXTRAS

For those who haven't got an existing Kings of War army (or just want to add a warband or 6 to your collection) we're also making some great $20 starter warbands available as optional extras. To add one of these to your pledge, simply click on the 'manage my pledge' button and increase the total by the amount required, e.g. add $20 to get the goblin warband. You can choose from the warbands below (they're a mix of plastic and metal components):

So, hopefully that’ll open up the KS to a heap more backers, let's keep that total climbing. Please do let everyone know about the new book bundle pledge, and once we are through the funding goal we can get adding big piles of toys to those pledges ☺.

Das ist genau das Update, auf das ich gewartet habe. Sehr coole Starter für jede Fraktion und ein Regelbuch-Pledge, top! Ich finde die 20$ sind ein richtiges Schnäppchen und gerade bei den neuen Fraktionen sind da auch sehr schöne Modelle dabei. Weiter so Mantic.
