Endgame: With a shrieking sound like a mystic banshee the concrete gave way and the supporting beam came crashing towards the ground. Muscles honed from years of life as a bounty hunter tensed and Leylia leaped sideways, evading both the crush and another shot from one of the lasguns at the same time. A hard landing later she was out of the direct line of fire for the first time in the last minute. Of course the break didn't last... The sizzling impact of more lagun hits sounded clearly from the other side of the cover and she saw streaks of light from the corner of her eyes as they passed over her head. Suddenly an earsplitting boom sounded through the room and the fallen beam shook under the impact. "By the dead guy in Terra, how did that scum get a boltgun!" Another roar and she could feel the broken metal of her cover press against her back. A devastating weapon like a boltgun was far outside the scope of most citizens in the underhive and she had no idea how the guards had gotten hold of one. Not that it matters..she thought after a third hit that made the metal groan. It would not hold much longer. The stray shots from the boltgun had caused it's fall in the first place. She was sure it would split apart after a few more hits and leave her wide open for the three gunmen to take down at their pleasure. A shrill voice from the other side was the first indication of a chance. "Damn I'm out of ammo." Suddenly both of the lasguns stopped firing. "Come on out girl, we don't wana waste any ammunition of you and you'd make a nice looking prisoner. No one needs to die here!" Leylia recognized the voice from the bearded thug she saw then they had entered the guilders house. Tall, muscular, totally over equipped and, of course, stupid. Probably grew up under house goliath.[/] She threw herself over the barricade, the pain in her legs telling her what they thought of the maneuver. Still the stims she had taken did their work and with a strength no human should even have she flew into the air and crossed the fallen beam with a back flip. Her arms flew out, aiming her guns at the man who had spoken. Angry red laser beams cut through the air and punched a hole through his face before she had even touched the ground. The other two stared at her with wide eyes, one was still fumbling with his belt to get out a spare magazine for his friend. His own gun was held with only one arm. She shot him first, just in case and then took her time to aim both pistols at the last gunman. One of the runes flashed bright red, the spirit of the master crafted weapon telling her it was empty. But her enemy did not need to know that. "Where is Velvet?!" A week before the renegade bounty hunter generally known as Leylia could not have imagined ever wanting to see the owner of that nickname again. She had been sitting in the Dusthole, enjoying what she thought would be one of her last drinks then he entered. A flush of bright green leather traveling clothes, a shimmering cape, immaculate white gloves. Out of place was such soft way to describe how he looked in a seedy bar like this... Somehow he even managed to make the simple act of picking a chair to sit down into a an elegant and over the top fashion statement. Leylia looked down at her own faded and patched Van Saar suit, a prized possession even in its current state and wondered how he managed to keep his things so clean down here. "My dear, to say it is a pleasure to see you would be a grave understatement. Might I ad that you look radiant. That always being a fact this is of course not spectacular in itself but always worth mentioning anyway." "Drop dead." She did not even look up from her glass. "Leylia, you hurt my feelings. Feelings that regard you only with fondness and respect all the time I might add. And please, don't drink that. It gives me stomach cramps just to look at you drinking this sad excuse for alcohol." With a swipe of his cape he produced two crystal goblets and a shining blue bottle. "From the personal collection of a guild lord no less. I think you will enjoy it. And do not worry he has no more need for it. A regrettable accident in which I, of course, had no part at all." This made her look up. In fact she practically stared at the bottle. She could probably live a few month from that bottles resell value alone. "See, I knew I would get your attention." he started to fill the glasses with expert grace and smiled at her in that most annoying way of his. "I need to go on a business trip and would enjoy your splendid company. Why don't you join me, it would be most profitable of course." "I'm not a joiner." Leylia really did not want to give him the pleasure of accepting the offered glass but she was just too curious and, more importantly, too desperate for another shot to refuse. Of course Velvet's smile never faltered as he raised his own glass. "No you are not, and who would ever expect it, magnificent as you are on your own. Yet I happen to know something that you most certainly are. A survivor." Bending over Velvet whispered into her ear. "You tried to hide it but I can see your shaking hands. The combat drugs are killing you." He was right of course and she knew it. Years of trying to stay on top had taken their toll. Once her connections to the drug market had been a blessing, now her nervous system was failing more and more with every passing day. "Even if that's true, so what?" "Leylia, it would be a shame to allow such a capable and lovely lady to pass away. Now, coincidentally, I might have access to the medical means of saving your life. A clinic above the wall to be precise. All you have to do is accompany me on a little hunting trip." It took all her willpower not to spit her drink right back into his face. It was far too good to waste it like that. "Don't give me that crap. My kind never gets through the wall. Whatever your hunting it can't bring in that many credits." His smile never changed and his eyes sparkled in the same friendly way as before. "It is navigator my dear." Now she did spit out her drink and she didn't even want to hit anything. As the last shaking guard guided her at gunpoint she still had trouble believing it. They had followed the trail for two weeks until at last they found evidence hinting that a certain guilder and archeotech collector currently harbored the rogue navigator. So far even the existence of these beings had been no more than myth to Leylia and she could barely imagine the scope of it all. Of course she had heard the rumors of spaceship as huge as a settlement but that was just a story. Like the sky or ancient Terra. They took out the four guards at the entrance of the two story mansion without problems thankfully they had been out of hearing range from Springs, the closest excuse for a settlement you could find here. The guilder had settled in a remote area of the town. Without the element of surprise the remaining guards inside had caused more problems and they still had no idea how man they faced. She had stayed behind to keep these three busy to allow her partner to head on but thanks to the falling debris after the support beam crashed she had missed which way Velvet took. Leaving an enemy alive so close to her wasn't something she liked at all. She was proven right the moment her captive threw himself to the ground and screamed. "Awake!" He wasn't quite fast enough. Leylias one charged gun blew out the back of his head before he could get out of the way. But she knew the damage was done. This sounded an awful lot like some command word. She turned around, her drug enhanced senses searching for any enemy. But she wasn't prepared for the massive hydraulic limb that smashed right through the wall beside her. It caught her throat and she lifted from her feet like child. She looked down and behind the rusty and massive bionic arm an ugly human form appeared in the broken wall. Wet looking cabled connected the thing to his shoulder and she saw scars covering his bald head. His blank eyes stared at her without feeling. "Servitor." The hand started to squeeze and Leylia could not get out another word. Beside the half-dead thing three more guards appeared, armed with unpleasant smiles and automatic rifles. The magnificent laspistols, her most valuable possession, fell to the floor as her hands reached for the fork like ending that had gripped her throat. The drugs caused her adrenaline to surge at inhuman levels, she could hear the servos of the arm whine as she pushed against them. But as strong as she was the servitor was stronger. Feeling her strength fade with every passing moment Leylia glanced at the guards, looking for any way out of her problem. But this time she saw none. "I'd enjoy watching her struggle but make it fast bolthead. We have another intruder." His companions nodded in agreement but had their eyes widen in shock then they saw the knife sticking out of the man†™s throat. He had just finished his sentence. "Indeed my friends, you do have another intruder. And sadly I must inform you that it is a quite lethal one who happens to take a very dim few if someone tries to hurt his business partners." For once she was glad to hear Velvet†™s voice and the throwing knife was easy to recognize as his. She could not see anything as his voice came from her back but she still thought it quite stupid to announce himself like that. "Oh, there are my manners. Allow me to introduce us, this lovely lady is Leylia, my humble self is called Velvet around these parts. And yes, my new friend. This pleasant gentleman is the navigator Aurelius †œ. Leylia knew that tone. He used it then he was about to kill someone. She just had no idea what he wanted to do against two armed fighters and a servitor. And then she saw it. The humans went down first, eyes bleeding, throats bulging, their hands frantically trying to cover their face. The servitor did not make such a show. She could see a thin stream of blood running out of his mouth and he slowly fell to the floor, Leylias throat still caught in his mechanical arm. She pulled at the claw again and this time she managed to at least spread it a little, just enough to turn her head and look behind her. Only to stare right into the barrel of one of her own guns and Velvet's cold hard eyes. Behind him she could see a fat, bald man in dark blue silken robs pull a scarf over his head but somehow that was not so interesting right now. "Why didn't you kill him Velvet?" Her partners eyes never changed even if his voice was as friendly as always. "Do you really have such a bad opinion of me my dearest? Why do you always assume I want to kill someone?" "You're an assasin." "Good point." His smile suddenly looked just a bit sad. Leylia had never seen that on him and she found it very frightening. "In this case though I came to bring the good navigator a business proposal from friends who need someone, let us say outside of the usual channels, to guide their ship." Leylia's head was spinning, as much from the lack of oxygen as from the implications. A navigator, customers from the upper hive, spaceships. This was on a scope even the richest guilders could not dream of. "Why didn't you tell me, you know I don't care 'bout the law for the right money." Again that sad smile. Suddenly she found the friendly pulsing green of her pistol's status runes not reassuring at all. "Yes my dear but as you said before, you're not a joiner." Leylia just saw Velvet's finger twitch, thankfully the beam itself was too fast to notice before it had passed through her head.

naja, mich eigentlich schon.
  4. oh mein Gott du hast echt zuviel Zeit.

  9. cool danke.
