Gestern und heute hat mantic auf Facebook Teaserclips zu "the league" geposted. Im grunde nur ein gehörnter dämonenschädel mit einer flamme im rechten auge.

Naja zumindest wird dann wohl demnächst geklärt werden wie es zu dungeonsaga und dungeonsaga origins in Verbindung steht.

Für mich wird es immer verwirrender weil dungeonsaga:dwarfs Kings quest jetzt nach halbjähriger Abstinenz(kein eintrag) aus dem Online-Shop wieder da ist.(dachte das wird ersetzt?)

Auch wenn ich zugeben muss das ich zuerst nur The League gelesen hatte und dann gleich an eine weitere Comic Lizenz denken musste

Ich bin auch extrem gespannt was es mit "The League" auf sich hat und was es nun genau werden wird und ob es Dungeon Saga ersetzt, oder 2.0, oder was ganz anderes werden wird !?

Außerde mgibt es noch news zum offiz. KoW RPG Game von RedScar Publishing:

Es wird einen KS dafür später im August geben und es soll wohl definitiv alle KoW Spiele miteinander verbinden und viele Möglichkeiten bieten, nicht nur kämpferisch, sondern auch soziale Interaktion/Politik und den Hintergrund weiter ausbauen. Weiterhin wird gemunkelt in dem pocast das das Wort "Mantica" nicht wirklich so der Knaller ist und evtl. kommt da was anderes?
Hört Euch den podcast an, er ist definitiv sehr interessant

Nach den FB Kommis scheint es ja bestätigt zu sein dass The League es ein "Dungeon Saga Successor" wird. Aber kein Fantasy Football. Glück gehabt

Mantic hat eine neue Lizenz auf der licence-Expo in Vegas gekauft. Nur wird es nicht dies hier sein. Ende des Jahres kommt aber wieder ein ks. 

Wird aber sicherlich wieder eine Comic Lizenz sein. Ronny hat ja mal gesagt spart man ne Menge Geld für Illustrationen im Spiel Material.

Auf den ersten Blick sieht es einfach nach einem umgekehrten Dungeon Saga aus, quasi ein Evil Saga.

Das geht schon mit dem aktuellen Regelwerk. (Bosse wie Helden spielen und gegen basilea oder Elfen kämpfen)

Dann wohl doch ein 2.0 mit böser Party. Das wollte Ronny schon vor 3? Jahren machen.

Dachte das hätte sich erstmal mit der ds-Mission in destiny of Kings erledigt (Vampir, Wraith, revenant, ??? Party gg zwerge)

Naja. Schlecht isses nicht, enttäuschend schon.

 

Naja mal sehen. James Hewitt gibt mir noch Hoffnung das es storylastiger als bislang wird. Star saga Mechaniken aber mit silvertower like erzählbuch hätte was.

 

Bin mal gespannt wer die Gegner sind. Weil neue Minis werden ja sicherlich auch nach vanguard/kow gehen. 

In Star saga klappt das mit dz:escalation ausgesprochen gut und wird von meiner Gruppe sehr gut angenommen. 

Zudem hat Star saga. Dz quasi 4 neue spielbare Fraktionen  gebracht. Eine davon hat es auch schon nach warpath geschafft.

Muss man das kaufen?

We’re back with another Trident Realm run down! After giving an overview of the faction yesterday, today we’re highlighting some of the new units that have been added as part of the wider warband release. The great thing about these full warband releases, is that it allows us to look at the existing Kings of War range to bring even more miniatures into Vanguard – and create some entirely new minis.

So, let’s have a closer look at some of the awesome new Trident Realm units.

DAMBUSTER

To be honest, we were never going to start anywhere else. The Dambuster is an absolute beast and the miniature is stunning. Since we first showed the Dambuster in all its glory at Salute, we’ve consistently been asked when it’s being released. Well, that time is now.

The Dambuster is one-unit combo machine thanks to its Tongue Lash and Defensive Toxins abilities. With the Tongue Lash move, it can drag opponents in, so that it’s engaging them and will poison them with its Defensive Toxins in the End Phase. It’s also worth noting the Tongue Lash move can be used multiple times in the same activation (as long as you’ve got the Power), so you can drag multiple enemies into base-to-base. There’s also a command option of the Dambuster, called the Dambuster Sentinel, but we’re not going to spoil that today!

NAIAD INITIATE

Something that came up in our review of the Trident Realm before this faction release, was that they were struggling a bit for cheap Grunts. Although the Otter Bevy is particularly adorable and only costs 10pts, the fact it’s a Beast can limit your options a little. Say hello to the Naiad Initiate! These warriors in training are another great unit option and, if you’re into fluffy warbands, they mean you can run an entirely Naiad-based gang. They’re also a much cheaper way to get hold of the Trident ability, which is able to Fatigue enemies.

MYTHICAN AQUAMAGE

There’s a new command option for the Trident Realm, thanks to the Mythican Aquamage. This powerful Spellcaster gets access to the Riptide spell for ‘free’ and can cast it as a Short action – so yes, you could Force Fatigue to cast it again. Or you could take the Ruined Staff of Silibar equipment and cast it three(!) times in a Round.

What’s more, in the spirt of creating themed lists, we loved the idea of a warband with multiple Water Elementals but, of course, the restriction on one Large model per warband put a stop to that. However, thanks to the Aquamage’s Elemental Mastery ability, you can take two Water Elementals per warband, which is also pretty handy when combined with the Naiad Initiate’s Kyron’s Blessing skill.

PLACODERM DEFENDER

One of the most popular minis in the Trident Realm range is Eckter, the Placoderm Defender. Rather than introduce Eckter as a named character now (although that’s not to say he won’t make an appearance in Vanguard at some point), we wanted to make the Placoderm Defender available as a Support option.

The Placoderm Defender is great for taking hits from enemies and then Retaliating with the Slamback ability. With an Armour value of 4+, he should be able to comfortably take a few punches – particularly when combined with his Defender ability – before striking back with a Crushing Strength (2) retaliation.

So, that’s it for our preview of some of the new units. Of course, there are still a couple of surprises included in the warband set and boosters, so we won’t spoilt everything here. But, as you can see, the Trident Realm has plenty of exciting options when putting your gang together.

There’s something fishy going on in the world of Vanguard this week, with the upcoming release of the Trident Realm. This amphibious faction is a mix of different aquatic races – bounding frogs, to living waves and heavily armoured crabs. They’re also one of the fastest factions in Vanguard, thanks to their naturally quick movement and the opportunity to boost their speed with the Rising Tides warband ability.

Across the course of this week, we’ll be highlighting the Trident Realm with a quick overview today, before diving into some of the key units and tactics to consider when playing with a Trident Realm warband.

RISING TIDES

Let’s kick things off with their warband special ability. Eagle-eyed readers may notice this rule has changed compared to the version in the standard rulebook. As mentioned in our previous Vanguard blogs, the regular warband releases give us an opportunity to review each faction and see where they need a buff or a slight tweak.

In the case of Rising Tides, the ability to give all Neriticans an extra couple of inches for just two power seemed a little overpowered. Instead, you’ve now got to spend 1 power for each model you want to give some extra speed to. On the plus side, you can now use this ability on any model in the warband, so otters and Water Elementals can benefit from that extra speed!

Rising Tides is still particularly powerful when used in combination with the Riverguard’s Bound ability, which temporarily grants them Fly. Now you’ve got a Flying model that can move 8” and leap over buildings in a single bound – perfect for grabbing objectives and running from the enemy.

FACTION SPECIFIC SPELLS

Not only are the Trident Realm fast, but they also excel in shifting the opposition around the tabletop, or simply locking them in one place. This is perfectly represented by their two faction specific spells: Crushing Pressure and Riptide.

We’ll deal with Crushing Pressure first. Not only does this damage the target with 3D8 and Piercing (1) but they’re also pinned in place. This is very useful for stopping potentially powerful enemy units in their tracks before they engage or capture an objective.

Secondly, you also have access to Riptide. Once again, our eagle-eyed readers may spot that Riptide has been tweaked. After further testing since launch, it was felt the original spell (which targeted two models and automatically knocked them down) was a little too good. However, it’s still very useful when it comes to shifting the opposition off key objectives or for making them break away from your big hitters.

FACTION LEADERS

When it comes to your faction leaders, you’ve got a few choices to make. Top of the pile is, arguably, the Naiad Centurion. She brings a lot to the table, including a blue Power Die and a pretty lethal harpoon-gun. She’s no slouch in melee either and is even able to follow-up with extra attacks, thanks to her Battle Rage ability. Then again, she’s not cheap, clocking in at 45 points.

Alongside the Centurion, you’ve also got the choice of the Riverguard Sentinel. After much reflection, we felt the Sentinel was getting benched in favour of the Centurion. As a result, he’s had a little boost with an extra D8 in Melee and the ability to use Combined Fire when involved in a Group Shoot action with other Riverguard. Perhaps the biggest change though is that the Riverguard Sentinel has dropped from 44 points to 37 points. Every little helps.

There are also two brand-new command options for the Trident Realm in the form of the Dambuster Sentinel and Mythican Aquamage, but we’ll come to those in another blog…

Übrigens ich habe gerade gesehen das Mantic nun für Vanguard einen Testlauf für Trident Realms mit "Cards only" macht.

Wenn das gut angenommen wird bekommen die anderen Warbands auch die Option nur die Karten zu kaufen.

Das wäre gut. Ich mag die Regeln, finde aber so manches Modell nicht so prall und würde lieber alternativen verwenden.
